Rewards Part One

There are many ways to obtain rewards in the game, and many types of rewards to obtain. Here is a list of some of them:

  1. Helicopter

At level seven, the helicopter on the right of the city screen becomes available. By clicking on it, you are offered some selection. Select one and the helicopter will go out and recover those resources. You will be notified in the game when the helicopter returns. There is no cost to you.

You can obtain a different list of selections through one daily free resort or through paying diamonds. You are allowed ten recoveries a day and the game will tell you when you are too “tired” to continue. Each recovery takes a varied amount of time, and the types and amounts of resources recovered will increase as your city level increases.

  2. Quests

Quests will reward you upon completion. Clicking on the icon brings up a list of things to do in or around your city. Each quest shows the rewards that you receive upon completion. You obtain those rewards by returning to the Quest menu and clicking on the “complete” button.

Quests increase in complexity as your various building, troop, plot and city levels increase. At the beginning of the game, you may complete quests very rapidly, without knowing, so it is always good to check the list frequently.

  3. Achievements

The achievements button appears when you click on your avatar. These, when completed, reward you with diamonds. They increase in difficulty in a similar way to Quests. A completed achievement displays a “Reward” button that you click.

The achievement points are cumulative. Once you reach a reward, the points remain and are the basis for the next level of that achievement. For example, after you heal x number of troops and collect the diamonds, that number remains as part of the work toward a higher level of healed troops and another reward.

  4. Alliance Wages

By accessing the Alliance tab, or through a constructed embassy, you can see the wages that you may obtain daily by belonging to an alliance.

There are three types. The first is Attendance. By playing, you earn the first level of this wage every day. As your alliance grows, as more members play in that day, two added levels are available to all members. The reward is diamonds.

Passing over Active for now, we look at contributions. There are two levels. You earn this reward by contributing resources to the study of Alliance Technology, also found under the Alliance tab. In theory, if you never slept, you could contribute to technology six times a day. However, the reward only recognizes reaching two levels.

The Active rewards are those tasks that you will likely perform every day in and around your city. You may farm for resources in the local area, study new technologies, train troops or share resources or troops with other members of the Alliance. Try to do each of the items daily to maximize your rewards. Some, however, may not be possible on a daily basis.

As you succeed with the various tasks, your points increase. A briefcase is lit for every point level that you reach. Click on it to receive the rewards.

  5. Briefcase / Speaker

At the entrance to the walled area of your city is a set of speakers. When rewards are available, a briefcase appears overhead. The speakers produce rewards at timed intervals and the time remaining for a reward to appear displays in the lower right of your screen.

Once a day, the times become short and if you are playing the game, you will find rewards appear rapidly. Then the time between rewards begins to lengthen. Click on the briefcase or the timer to obtain the reward.

City

In the city screen, you see your city which is contained within walls and a region just outside the walls. Gray squares or rectangles show the sites where you can build. Clicking on one brings up a list of the types of buildings that you can put in that spot.

The types of buildings available are based upon your city level. For levels one through five, the game forces you to build things that advance your city’s level, such as farms, oil wells, troop training sites, etc. As you continue to level up, it will be up to you to determine the mix and location for your buildings.

Your buildings and your resource plots outside the walls can only be leveled up to the level of your city. Among your quests are those asking you to increase the level of a specific type of building or to build more of that type. When you succeed, you receive rewards through the Quests menu.

Increasing the level of any building or plot requires a certain amount of resources. If you are short, the game will off you the chance to purchase some with diamonds. An up level can also be done immediately by paying the stated number of diamonds shown on the level up screen.

The basic game allows on structure to be built at any one time. The package of items that can currently be purchased through the blimp for $24.99 US will allow you a second ability to build. Unless you use a speedup or purchase the up level with diamonds, the construction takes time.

Speedup, found in your briefcase and accessed through the speedup button on the up level screen, will move the construction along. The game begins with the final five minutes of construction as free. An indicator will appear over a building under construction saying “Free”. Clicking on it will complete the construction.

Through the VIP process, that free construction time increases. You may be able to shorten the time without using a speedup by as much as 20 minutes. Keep in mind, however, that some construction at higher levels may take days. A combination of speedups, lowering the time downward to the level gained through VIP, and then the VIP buff, works well.

Try not to use more speedups than you need and overlap the VIP buff. That is just a waste of an item that you will have to replace.

Commander

Every city has a commander, you. The information about the city commander is found by clicking on the icon in the upper left. That icon is your avatar.

There is a great deal of information about the commander found on that screen and by clicking on the icons. The setting icon controls some of the game functions.

The achievements icon takes you to some major waypoints in building your city. When you make the number of items for a given achievement, you receive diamonds.

Diamonds

Diamonds or jewels are the currency of the game. Almost everything can be accomplished if you are willing to use your diamonds for that purpose.

You can obtain diamonds in several ways. The accomplishments in the commander’s area pay in diamonds. Rewards for winning activities often include diamonds. The shooting gallery can award diamonds.

Diamonds can be mined in the territory outside the city. Or, you can spend real world money and buy diamonds.

It is not easy to accumulate a supply of the jewels. Mining them is slow, with a fixed rate of three per hour. There are ways to speed that up some but it is still hours to obtain less than 100 gems.

The shooting gallery can provide diamonds, under targets, at random. These are usually 10 or 20 at a time.

Being a part of winning an activity is often the best way to get diamonds. Whether it is the Single Player Arms Race, Zombie Siege or a Cross State Battle, winning results in rewards that often include diamonds.
