Clark for President?

Gen. Shelton shocks Celebrity Forum
"What do you think of General Wesley Clark and would you support him as a presidential candidate," was the question put to him by moderator Dick Henning, assuming that all military men stood in support of each other. General Shelton took a drink of water and Henning said, "I noticed you took a drink on that one!"

"That question makes me wish it were vodka," said Shelton. "I've known Wes for a long time. I will tell you the reason he came out of Europe early had to do with integrity and character issues, things that are very near and dear to my heart. I'm not going to say whether I'm a Republican or a Democrat. I'll just say Wes won't get my vote."

When you are a general officer in the United States Army, you are evaluated on more that the basic nuts and bolts of your job. Being NATO Commander was the post for a general officer who either wanted to retire with honor, or was considered one of the top candidates for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Clark's removal was a career stain of epic proportions. General Shelton is under no obligation to reveal the reasons, and may be prevented from doing so by law. His statement that the removal concerned character issues is huge, beyond huge. He said as much as he could, I expect, maybe too much. If there are character issues with Clark, the voters need to know it. Shelton's statement says that Clark was removed because his superiors could not trust him any longer. A devestating revelation about a candidate for President.
