California Republicans

Everyone seems to agree that the fringe of the party hangs out in California. Actually, I suspect the fringe of the party is California.

Bill Simon is attacking Arnold in ads. CalPundit via Balloon Juice. Moron!

I cannot find where I saw it but someone very ably, in comments someplace, explained what Bush ought to do. Sit all three main Republican candidates down in a room and explain that only one was leaving the room. If not, the the California Republican party can "go fish" for support from the White House. I think Arnold can win. Simon has lost once already, in a field with far fewer choices, and McClintock is too conservative to have a chance. Whether the right wing likes Arnold or not, there are benefits to his winning that they will NOT see if the Democrats win, or if the recall itself loses. The benefits may be marginal, but they exist, and a bird in the hand ... But, alas, the California Republican Party is best at fratricide. Unless someone wakes up, kiss this election goodbye.
