Current total for donations made for Hurricane Harvey relief and recovery total:
$161,987,804
as of 10 pm. The list of donors and amounts may be found here, in pdf format.
Two large telethons today. The Dallas Cowboys held one with players and former players answering the phones. They raised over $2 million, including a $1 million donation from the owner. Money is going to the Salvation Army (YAY!).

Disney and ABC and friends held the largest of the day. Preliminary total raised for the Red Cross is $10.9 million. This includes some corporate donations.

I am trying to separate out the company and foundation donations from telethon totals as best I can. Trying very hard not to duplicate dollars in two different categories.
The Discover Card people tweeted me earlier today that they are waiving all merchant fees for Hurricane Harvey donations. That’s a net gain of 2% or more for those donations. Did not hear back from Mastercard, VISA, or American Express.
JJ Watt has raised $12.7 million at his YouCaring site. He has not yet stated where that money will be going. Did not receive a response to my tweet on the subject.
Comedian Kevin Hart has raised just under $1.3 million at his CrowdRise site. That money is slated for the American Red Cross.
Country singer Chris Young has a GoFundMe site that he seeded with a $100,000 donation. It has raised over $350,000.
Donations from businesses total $92 million. Donations from individuals, including telethons, total over $58 million. Telethons, including the two above (less business donations) have raised about $16 million.
The total announced here is much larger than that donated for Hurricane Sandy relief as of day 6 and much less than that donated for Hurricane Katrina relief as of day 6.
